Goree is a quaint, quiet town with easy access to the lake, guided hunting/fishing, hunting lodges, RVing, camping and extremely affordable real estate for your very own hunting headquarters. Finally, Goree has the last stop for bait, beverages and snacks before heading to the lake, Millers Creek Reservoir.

Traffic Jam
Here's another old picture I found, taken sometime around 1976. Notice the rush hour traffic jam. Ed Hargrove

Mr. Hargrove, Thank you for the picture! What is that bldg back across 277 that is located where the Allsup’s building is present day? And is that the laundry mat across from the grocery store? Tammie Trainham
Before Alsups, there was an old gas station there. I think the last people to run it was a man named Bobby Ward and his brother from Munday. That is the laundry, across the street from the grocery store, also notice the Christmas trees in front of the store, so I would guess it was taken in December. Ed
Last stop for a cold one before headin' to the lake...

Where is this town?
Halfway between Wichita Falls & Abilene. Still don't get it? Then halfway between Dallas/FtWth and Lubbock. We're the closest town to the lake, Miller Creek Reservoir, where there is great fishin' and fun.
