HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP!

In late June an exhibit will begin at the Knox County Museum in Benjamin that will run for 6 months. Goree's spot is empty. Did I mention, empty? We are going to fill it! Right?

Well, here is how one can help. Our theme will be entertainment! (i.e. Munday's theme is school) Our claims to fame are: Movie Theater, Skating Rink, Domino Hall, Band Stand, 4th Picnics, Doodle Bug Train...am I missing any?

Let's get our memorabilia, even if it's just a story about it, and make us an exhibit. The items will be returned after being on loan the six months. Thanks bunches!

May Newsletter

We have some hot topic townkeeping issues to discuss:

~the electric company has informed us that two street lights, in particular, will NOT be replaced for six months if vandalism continues.

~don't dump trash in dumpsters unless you pay a monthly garbage fee.

~don't dump anything but limbs in the burn pile.

~Noise Ordinance: we don't need to adopt one like Munday because we already have one. Since we don't have local law enforcement, then with the last complaint a petition was brought against a case in which the offender was fined $500. Therefore, complaints are taken seriously when received.

~Animal Ordinance: the current ordinance requires property owners to have permission of neighbors within a hundred feet of your animals. Let's keep Goree a peaceful place.

~Any complaints in regards to dog or chicken fighting will be reported to PETA immediately! (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals)

'Thank you for your cooperation'.
