Come see us...

Goree is a quaint, quiet town with easy access to the lake, guided hunting/fishing, hunting lodges, RVing, camping and extremely affordable real estate for your very own hunting headquarters. Finally, Goree has the last stop for bait, beverages and snacks before heading to the lake, Millers Creek Reservoir.

Bereavement opportunity...

There will be a meal for the Lorene Hunt Family following the graveside services at the Goree Memorial Building. The graveside services are at 1:00 p.m. at the Goree cemetery. Cindy’s church family will be bringing food as will Jonelle’s friends.

I am asking those in Goree who knew Lorene and this family to contribute however they feel led. Goree will not be responsible for the full-blown meal, but many of us will want to help serve, bring a dish or attend the services.

Some of the exes think we don’t have much or many left in Goree, but as we saw last week that that just isn’t the case! And the exes don’t want to be a burden on anyone…but what a joy it is to be a helping hand during a time like this. We ARE breathing life back into this town and GOOD times are ahead. Yesterday, I had a very, very encouraging discussion with our ‘new’ Knox County Economic Development Coordinator, Remelle Farrar. Guess what? We, the city of Goree, are included in her plans and she wants to help us make our dreams come true. Her quote, “I do not apply for a grant unless I already know I will be awarded.”
